Stimulating Your Baby’s Brain
Do you know that most of our children are smart and intelligent by birth! Probably some of you will not believe it, but if the process went in a normal way, our children are smart. But again, some of you will continue saying that you children are not that smart compared with other children.
Is that their fault? No! It’s our fault as parents, since God gave us the same brain, but all we have to do is to give good nutrition so that the free brain we got can develop in a good way. Other important thing is STIMULATION. Without stimulation, they did not get an opportunity to develop their brain functions in a normal manner.
Brain develops at a very rapid rate in short cycles of bursts that we called a golden age. It is from 0-3 years. These changes are very critical and play an important role in the overall development of brain. It doesn’t mean that after 4 years old, we don’t have to give stimulation for them. But the thing is, we have to concern more on the golden age.
Developing very critical brain functions in your children seem to be far more important than any other activities. As you kiss, touch, sing, hold, hug, rock and sing to your children, you can expect their brain functions to improve in a remarkable manner. You can also do so much great thing at home with your children to help them developing their brain. These simple actions will help your children develop highly critical network of brain cells, neurons and nerve fibers.
One of my Japanese friend told me that she has 2 nephews. Their mom never buy toys for them.
“Do you want to have a toy car? Here’s the box, scisor, glue, etc. Try to make it yourself, ” she said. “If you need my help, I’ll help you.”
It’s not because they are poor , but their mom tried to help them developing their brain. I know that’s sounds so mean and unaceptable for you who always give abundant toys for your children. But as they grow up, both of them got the highest IQ in all Japan! Can you believe that?
That’s why, parents play an important role for their children’s future.
What kind of parents are you going to be? It’s your choice.
